AVan Rensburg qualified and was admitted as an Attorney in the Supreme Court of South Africa, Eastern Cape Division on the 1st May 1975. He was subsequently admitted as a Notary Public on the 29th day of July 1976 and as a Conveyancer on the 19th day of October 1978 .
He has been in continuous practice since his admission as an Attorney and is presently a Director of Gravett Schoeman Incorporated and heads the Commercial Law Department of this Firm.
He has specialized in all aspects of Commercial Law, Property Law as far as the commercial aspects thereof are concerned, such as leasing, financing, structuring of property portfolios, securing and recovery of commercial debts, company law relating to commercial transactions and activities and the like.
He has extensive experience in the sale and registration of transfer of commercial properties and all legal implications relating thereto including VAT, transfer duty and property taxes.
He has been active in the negotiation of property transactions, sales of shares of members interest and other vested rights leading up to the successful conclusion of many multi-million rand transactions.
As a Conveyancer for several of the largest banks he has attended to many Commercial Bond registrations including Notarial transactions, including in the areas formerly known as the Republics of Transkei and Ciskei. As a consequence of such registrations, he has also been involved in recoveries of secured debts.
He has also extensively undertaken Liquidation and Insolvency matters, both as Attorney acting for the Liquidating/Sequestrating party and on behalf of Liquidators/Trustees of Insolvent Estates relative to enquiries in terms of the Insolvency Act, recoveries of debts from Debtors of Liquidated/Sequestrated Estates
